As Sunday football gets closer, let’s take a look at a few of the big games and evaluate some of the players that you might be considering for your daily fantasy football team. To give some context for our recommendations, and to help you get an edge over the competition, we look at the predictions that the Las Vegas bookmakers have made first, and then extrapolate off of that.
Fantasy Football is Still Available at DraftKings

Washington Redskins at Carolina Panthers

The Panthers are big favorites for this game. Vegas has them winning this by 7.5 points, and that means that the Carolina offense should do well. The drawback is that the over/under for this game is only 45 points, which means that they might not do as well as some other offenses out there. Still, Carolina QB Cam Newton is a good place to start. Even if he doesn’t have a great throwing game, he is far more likely to score a rushing touchdown or two than any other quarterback in the league this weekend. Also look to tight end Greg Olsen if you are looking for a decent receiver at this position. He won’t be the most expensive TE out there, either, and that’s a good way to find some extra cash for other spots in your fantasy roster. If the Vegas odds makers are right, the Redskins should only score 18-21 points this game, too, which means that Carolina’s defense could be a consideration.

Indianapolis Colts at Atlanta Falcons

This game is loaded with big names, and knowing where to start can be hard. Vegas has the Falcons as favorites by 5 points. For starters, that means you should choose Atlanta QB Matt Ryan over Indy QB Matt Hasselbeck. With Andrew Luck out, Hasselbeck is playing well, but the odds are stacked against him for this game. The over/under is set at 47.5 points, which means the Colts are predicted to only score 20-22 points. Hasselbeck has only been averaging 240-something yards per game, too, so things are not looking great for him. However, the Falcons have been struggling lately, too. Julio Jones, once the top WR in the NFL, has fallen to the number two slot, and has been losing momentum quickly. This could be a good game for him to get back on top, though, as the Indianapolis defense is not as strong as it was earlier in the year, and it was never that formidable to begin with.

Cincinnati Bengals at Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals are 4.5 point favorites for this game. Most of that is because of the fact that they have the home field advantage, though. Both teams are having great years, and both quarterbacks are performing well, too. Arizona QB Carson Palmer is doing slightly better than Cincinnati QB Andy Dalton offensively, but Palmer has been intercepted more. This should be a high scoring game. The over/under is listed at 48.5 points, which means a lot more scoring than other games this weekend. Finding the players that are most likely to score is your best bet here. Start with Dalton and Palmer, then work your way to the running backs and wide receivers. For the RBs, look to Chris Johnson of Arizona first, and then Giovani Bernard of the Bengals second. Bernard should be slightly cheaper in price. For wide receivers, the top choice of this game is Larry Fitzgerald. He has been injured, but participated fully in practice on Thursday. A.J. Green is the next choice. Green had a stellar start to the season, but has declined quite a bit over the last several weeks. Until some turnaround is shown, he should be skipped over for fantasy reasons.
