Week #3 of the NFL season is quickly approaching, and before you draft your daily fantasy football team for Sunday, make sure that you have a good idea of what to expect from your team members. Here, we’ve looked at a few players you might be considering for your team, and we will also recommend a couple that you might not have thought to include. With our insight, hopefully you can dominate your league for the remainder of the season.

Quarterback to Think About

Ben Roethlisberger: Big Ben has had a decent start to the season, and at DraftKings, he has averaged 23.8 fantasy points per game, easily placing him in the top 4 when it comes to fantasy performance by a QB this season. His salary is in the higher range at all daily fantasy sites going into Week #3, but that’s to be expected. Still, he’s not overly expensive and has some pretty decent value. The problem going into this game for Roethlisberger is the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles defense is having a great start to the season, and by many measures, they are ranked number one at this point in the season. While Big Ben appears great at first glance, it’s smart to pass on him for now.

Andrew Luck: What’s going on with Luck? He had a pretty poor performance last week, and the Indianapolis Colts now find themselves at 0-2. Luck has a decent fantasy point average, though. He’s capable of playing well when he needs to, and this could be a great situation for him, especially since the San Diego Chargers defense is ranked so poorly right now. This is an ideal situation for someone like Luck who is able to pass for many yards and has something to prove. He’s likely to be more expensive than Roethlisberger, but has a much higher ceiling, and a much lower cellar, for this particular weekend.

Wide Receivers are a Good Play

Odell Beckham, Jr.: Beckham has underwhelmed us so far this year. Is this the game where that will change? It really could be. Last week, he was targeted 11 times and caught 8 passes for a total of 86 yards. He still doesn’t have any touchdowns this season, but it’s really just a matter of time before that happens. Where other top ranked players like Antonio Brown and A.J. Green have already brought the ball into the end zone, Beckham hasn’t, and this has artificially lowered his fantasy point average. This week, as the New York Giants take on the Washington Redskins, there’s a decent chance that this will change. The only thing that should give you pause is whether or not you want to spend big money on a player that hasn’t yet performed this season.

A.J. Green: Looking at him from just a fantasy point of view, Green is having an awesome season. He has great footspeed and seems to be unstoppable right now. But as the Cincinnati Bengals take on the strong Denver Broncos defense, there’s a good chance that Green will be stopped pretty effectively. He’s an expensive player in all leagues, and while Beckham is going against a weak defense where he can shine, Green is likely to falter as the strong Broncos target him. He’s not cheap, and he is going against the strongest D he’s seen all year. That should set off warning bells for you.

Running Back to Consider

Todd Gurley: Gurley has a ton of gifts going for him as a running back, and this week looks like a good week for him to finally show what he can really do. Even last week, we were not that impressed by his performance, but mostly only because we know he’s capable of far more. He only ran for 51 yards, and his game would have been pretty sorry if he didn’t have a catch to his credit. This week, the L.A. Rams take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Gurley should finally have his chance to shine.

Adrian Peterson: Peterson might not even be playing this weekend, and given how dismal his start to the season has been, that’d be fine with us. He had been so heavily hyped, but now that there’s a potential injury here, we strongly suggest you stay away from him.
