The RSM Classic kicks off on Thursday morning in Sea Island, Georgia. The 2016 PGA season is still young, but things are starting to heat up finally. Some golfers have already put two or three tournaments in for their season, and others are just getting started. It’s still tough to predict with a high degree of accuracy what some people will do over the four day tournament, but as the season progresses, we will get more and more info, making these tough fantasy golf choices a little easier.

Here, we will look at five of the top ranked golfers entered for the tourney and evaluate their daily fantasy PGA worth. Hopefully this will help you as your draft your rosters.

Justin Thomas: At DraftKings, Thomas is priced at $10,900, making him the second most expensive player in the mix. He’s played in three tournaments this season, placing in the top 10 in two of them. He’s currently averaging 113.5 fantasy points per game, and his last tourney two weeks ago was his lowest scoring performance this year. He only had 73.5 fantasy points there and finished T27. Before that, he had a first and a T3. Thomas is clearly the favorite of those that have already played this season, and because he’s not the most expensive player here, that makes him a good roster pick.

Zach Johnson: Johnson is the most expensive player this week at $11,500. Johnson had a strong season last year, and he ended things particularly well. While he wasn’t the best golfer in the world last year, he was definitely a top 10 talent. He won the PGA Open Championship, finished T4 at the Barclay’s, and then a T8th at the Tour Championship. He’s definitely one of the top three golfers entered this weekend, but because he’s had a few weeks off and is very expensive, he might be worth a pass this weekend, depending upon whether or not you are taking a conservative or aggressive approach with the RSM Classic.

Graeme McDowell: McDowell won last weekend at the OHL Classic, and despite this awesome performance and scoring 134.5 fantasy points, he’s not ranked in the top three this weekend. He clocks in at the fifth slot with a price of $10,200. He has a stroke per round average of 66.5, and of the top 10 ranked golfers entered this weekend, that’s the lowest. He might not win this weekend against the couple tougher golfers that have entered this weekend that weren’t present last weekend, but he’s definitely a top three performer. At his low price, he definitely has a spot on your roster.

Kevin Kisner: Kisner is a newer face at the top of the golfer standings, but he’s averaging 93.2 fantasy points per tournament this season. Even though he’s only played in three so far, he’s starting to show that he’s a threat. It’s tough to say how long this will last, but he’s shown now that he is capable of success. He’s priced at $10,400, but he seems to be worth the price. As long as the competition ahead of him stays weaker than average, he’s worth the cost. This is particularly true because he’s only finished in the top 10 in one of his tournaments, yet is averaging 68.7 strokes per round. This is solid golf, and implies that he’s capable of holding his own against better golfers in the future.

Bill Haas: Haas is ranked at number six according to DraftKings with a price of $10,100, but although he had a strong start last year, he fizzled out at the end of the season. He could play well this weekend, but his price is currently too high to warrant drafting him. Give him a few weeks before you decide to go with him if he stays at this price. If his price drops down considerably for his next tournament, he will be acceptable. But because he’s priced as a top tier player but was playing at the mid level last season, he’s not worth it right now.
