Week #7 of the NFL season is coming up. Have you started working on your daily fantasy football roster? We have, and hopefully our advice can help make your lineup much stronger as a result. Here, we will look at the top three positions in fantasy football, and compare two different players that you might be considering.

Quarterback

Matt Ryan: Ryan has been one of the most consistent quarterbacks from a fantasy perspective so far this season, and thanks to the fact that he’s likely to not be too expensive this week, he is a good consideration. Now, remember that he is going against the San Diego Chargers, who have been very week against the QB and the receiving game so far this season. Ryan has averaged 345.8 yards per game so far this season, and this game is likely to be a bit higher than this this coming week.

Drew Brees: Brees is one of the few QBs that is competitive with Ryan this season. He will probably be more expensive than Ryan this weekend, but that doesn’t mean he will return higher numbers. The Kansas City Chiefs defense is ranked 10th in the NFL when it comes to limiting QBs, so Brees is not expected to perform better than Ryan. If Ryan is cheaper, he is the easy choice here.

Wide Receiver

Antonio Brown: Brown has been a tempting choice consistently all season, but now with Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger ruled out this weekend, and the New England Patriots already having a great passing defense, Brown is not the right choice for Sunday. He has great statistics, but we saw last week how much his stats suffer when Big Ben is not in top form. And with him not even playing this week, Brown is going to suffer as a result. Then factor in the fact that he’s most likely to be the most expensive WR in your league, and he is way too overvalued to try and pick up. Spend your money elsewhere.

Amari Cooper: Cooper might not be a player you’ve considered at WR before, but here is a good weekend to test him out. He’s far cheaper than top talent like Brown, Julio Jones, and A.J. Green in most leagues, and the defense that he is up against this weekend is much weaker in the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is averaging 97.5 yards per game this season, and even though he only has 1 touchdown so far, this is something that will change quickly if he keeps cranking out that yardage. This is the most likely game for him to do so in the near future.

Running Back

DeMarco Murray: Murray is not the highest ranked RB in the NFL right now, but that’s to your advantage because it brings down his fantasy salary. And thanks to the fact that he is going up against the struggling Indianapolis Colts this weekend, his strong running game is going to be even stronger than normal. He is averaging 87.7 yards per game right now and has 6 touchdowns. We should be expecting more than 95 yards from him here and at least a touchdown. If he’s not too expensive—and he shouldn’t be—then he could be a strong number one RB for your roster.

LeSean McCoy: The top Buffalo Bills RB finds himself in an interesting position this week. He is having one of the best fantasy performances of any RB in the NFL right now thanks to his 97.8 yards per game and 7 touchdowns, but is this realistic to hold up, even against the Miami Dolphins? Remember that he had 140 yards last week against the San Francisco 49ers and 3 touchdowns. These boosted his stats considerably, especially as there are only 6 games under McCoy’s belt so far this season. Is McCoy a good pick? In many cases, yes. But he is likely to be just a bit too inflated this time thanks to his outstanding performance last week. Even against the Dolphins, we recommend holding off on McCoy until his price tag comes back to Earth.
