This coming Sunday brings us the Bad Boy Off Road 300 from NASCAR. The NASCAR season might be winding down, but that just means the races are getting more and more exciting. It also means that more people are flocking to play daily fantasy NASCAR, and that there is more completion at the sites that you use. Having a good strategy, especially when it comes to the top of your roster, is a must if you want to be competitive in your leagues.

Brad Keselowski: Keselowski finished 5th last weekend, and put up 47 fantasy points, according to DraftKings. These boosted his season long stats a little, but not very much. He’s now averaging 45.7 fantasy points per race and has an average finishing spot of 9.4. With a salary of $9,900, we should be expecting just this. He’s raced in 29 races this season and has made the top ten 20 times. Keselowski is a great driver, he’s been fairly consistent, and he even has 4 wins to his credit this season. We really like him, even if he’s not the favorite here.

Kevin Harvick: Speaking of the favorite, Harvick is once again the most expensive driver in the field at $10,700. He has made 22 out of 29 top tens, has an average finishing spot of 9.3, and has the highest average fantasy point total in the field at 62.8. The bad news on Harvick is that he had one of his worst races of the season last weekend, starting at 4th, but finishing 20th. We expected his salary to drop quite a bit as a result of this, but it only fell by $100. We’d be a lot more comfortable drafting Harvick at $10,200 or lower, but that’s not the case here. After scoring just 16 fantasy points last race, that’s a more realistic price than what we see here. Instead, you are not getting a discount on Harvick, but paying full price for him. That leaves some value shoppers out when it comes to drafting him here.

Denny Hamlin: Hamlin’s season has been quiet in comparison to some of the other more prominent drivers out there, like Busch and Harvick, but Hamlin is having a stellar year. His average finishing spot stands at 11.3, he’s made the top ten 19 out of 29 times, and he has an average fantasy point total of 36.5. The fantasy number is low, but the rest is very competitive. He also has 4 wins to his credit. Hamlin is priced at just $9,300, which makes him quite affordable in most rosters as a number two driver.

Joey Logano: Like Hamlin, Logano has had a quiet season, but it’s been just as strong. His price tag of $9,600 is pretty low in light of this. He’s made the top ten 22 out of 29 times, has an average finishing slot of 10.4, and has an average fantasy point total of 39.8. He also has 2 wins so far this year. Logano is only slightly more expensive than Hamlin, but has a lot more consistency. We like Logano over Hamlin, but understand that the price difference can sway you either way. The best way to afford him is to find high value drivers further down on your roster.

Kyle Busch: Busch is ranked number two for Sunday with a salary of $10,600. That’s just $100 cheaper than Harvick. The question to consider is which one will likely have the higher return. Harvick has been more consistent, but is having a weaker last bit of the season. Busch has been performing better lately, finishing 8th this past weekend. He has made the top ten 19 out of 29 times and has 5 wins so far this year. His fantasy point average isn’t as impressive as Harvick’s sitting at 48.2, but over the last bit of the season, this has changed. He has more momentum right now, and for the first time this season, is the better pick over Harvick.
