The next stop on the PGA Tour is in Scottsdale, Arizona for the Waste Management Phoenix Open. To help you with your daily fantasy golf roster, we’ve broken down some of the top golfers entered this weekend for you.

  • Bubba Watson: Watson is the top golfer going into this, according to DraftKings. His salary is set at $12,100, which is high, but not surprising since he is the number five ranked golfer in the world right now. And in the three tournaments he’s played in so far this season, he is averaging 110.0 fantasy points per tournament, putting him way above the next highest ranked golfer entered. He’s made the top ten twice so far this year, with a win at the World Challenge in December. Watson is a great talent, and he’s often much cheaper than this, but his strong finish last year, coupled with his quick start to the 2016 season has inflated his price greatly. For the first time in a long while, he might be priced too high, but he’s also on a hot streak, so his huge price tag might actually be worth it here.
  • Rickie Fowler: Fowler is ranked in the top five in the world, too, coming in at number four. However, according to his fantasy rankings, he is only the number three ranked golfer in this tournament, specifically because he’s averaging just 91.5 fantasy points per tournament and missed the cut in his last appearance. However, he has a lower stroke count per round than Watson (69.0 compared to 69.8), and he has played in more tournaments this year, making the cut in 4 out of 5 of them. This is despite averaging 72.0 per round last weekend. Fowler was the fastest starter of the upper tier golfers this season, too, until his poor performance at the Farmers Insurance Open. With a salary of $11,600, Fowler could be the most valuable pick you have on your roster for this tourney.
  • Kevin Kisner: Even though Kisner barely cracks the top ten in rankings for this tourney, he should be one of your best picks. His salary of $10,400 does not indicate the success that he’s seen so far this season. He’s averaging a stroke count of 67.7 per round, has posted 105.4 fantasy points per tournament, and has a win to his credit at the RSM Classic back in November. Even better, Kisner has made 6 of 6 cuts and has made the top ten 4 times. He’s been playing against weaker competition, but not by much. He is a good top ten finisher pick for this weekend, and threatens the top three. He should be the biggest value pick of the tourney.
  • Brandt Snedeker: Snedeker is ranked number two for this one, right behind Watson. His salary of $11,800 is way too high for what he’s shown us, though. He’s only putting up 79.5 fantasy points per tournament and has made just 4 of 6 top tens. To his benefit, he’s averaging 69.0 strokes per round and has made 3 top tens with a win at the Farmers Insurance Open last weekend, but these were done with the best golfers having bad days. There’s more talent in this tournament, and that looks bad for Snedeker. For our liking, Snedeker’s price is too high for his projected fantasy point total, and should be avoided.
  • Kevin Na: Na doesn’t crack the top ten here, according to DraftKings, but Na is one of the top three fantasy contributors entered. He has averaged 103.6 points per tournament, has a stroke average of 67.9 per round, and his salary is just $10,000. This one’s almost a no brainer, especially at a mid-tier price. Besides this, he’s made 4 of 6 cuts, and in the 4 he did make, he finished in the top 10. Granted, he’s not been facing talent like Fowler and Watson at their best, but Na is on a roll and if he does 80 percent of what he’s shown us he’s capable of, he’s made the cut here with ease. Anything better than this gives him a top ten finish. He’s perhaps the second or third highest value pick of the tournament.
