NFL action is back again this Sunday. We have some interesting matchups that will be fun to watch as a fan, but this doesn’t make it much easier as a daily fantasy football manager. Here, we’ve put together a few comparisons for you to help make your draft a lot stronger. If you’ve been successful this season, awesome. If not, hopefully this can help you get pointed in the right direction and start earning some winnings.
Quarterback
DeShaun Watson: Watson had his best game of the season so far in his last outing. He went 19 for 30 with receptions for a total of 402 yards. During that time, he was able to throw 4 touchdowns. Without a doubt, this was a great game, and a large part of that success was thanks to DeAndre Hopkins. Watson has momentum on his side right now, and while he’s not likely to score 38.8 fantasy points again this week, he is likely to be above his yearly average of 26.3. Houston is going up against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend at home. The catch is that Watson has performed better on the road than at home this season. But, with the Colts being ranked 29th in the NFL against QBs, it’s likely that this will be a wash. He’s averaging a dollar per fantasy point amount of $307.98 so far this season with a price tag of $8,100 in this instance. This number seems pretty accurate going into Sunday.
Russell Wilson: Wilson is ranked second for Sunday’s lineup in the QB department. He is priced at $7,300, which is very competitive, especially considering that he’s averaged 24.5 fantasy points per game this season. That gives him a dollar per fantasy point number of $297.96, making him a bit more worthwhile if you base your decision on value alone at QB. But Wilson has some issues going into this game. He has just 15 TDs this season, is going against a stronger team than the Texans in the Washington Redskins, and has a weaker receiving team. Washington is ranked 17th in the NFL against QBs, meaning that Wilson will likely perform at a fairly average level. The question comes down to what you’re looking for. Wilson is the better value, while Watson will likely have a couple extra points. At QB, value is the better choice as receivers and RBs are more likely to have a higher ceiling.
QB Start: Wilson
QB Sit: Watson
Running Back
Kareem Hunt: Hunt is ranked second in the RB department, right behind Ezekiel Elliott, who is out this weekend. Hunt is averaging 22.8 points per game, but he holds a very clear edge over a lot of other RBs thanks to his yardage per game. Hunt has averaged 95.8 yards per game, but at DraftKings, if Hunt has more than 100 yards rushing, he is granted a small bonus. Because he’s right on the borderline, there is about a 50 percent chance in any game that he’ll go over the 100 yard mark. With the Dallas Cowboys having the 29th best ranked defense against the rush in the NFL, there’s a very strong chance he’ll do so. His price tag of $8,600 stings a bit here, but at $377.19 per point, he might be worth it, especially if he breaks 100 yards.
Todd Gurley: Gurley is averaging 25.3 points per game, which is pretty strong, especially with his salary at $8,100. That’s a cost of $320.16 per point, which is a strong value for a top tier running back. He has a lower yard number per game, though, at 89.6. Gurley and the Rams go up against the New York Giants this weekend, who are ranked #10 in the NFL against the rush. Gurley is likely to have a below average game here, leaving his impressive numbers a lot less impressive in this matchup.
RB Start: Hunt
RB Sit: Gurley
