Heading into Week #3 of the NFL season, there are some lesser used fantasy players that are actually turning in some very impressive numbers. Here, we will go over a few of the best under the radar picks there are for your daily fantasy football team this weekend. Hopefully you can get in on them before everyone else catches on to the fact that they are putting up big numbers.
Carson Palmer, QB, Arizona Cardinals
Palmer has been a very pleasant surprise to the fantasy players that have been drafting him so far this year. In some leagues, Palmer is second in fantasy points to only Tom Brady, and this week, Palmer is going up against the San Francisco 49ers, who have a very weak defense so far this year. Depending upon the league that you are playing in this weekend, Palmer could actually be the highest fantasy point gatherer at QB for Week #3. He has the third highest QB Rating so far this year, behind only Marcus Mariota and Aaron Rodgers, and of these three, he has the highest yards per game total. He also has the most touchdowns of the three with 7. Palmer is not priced among the top 10 most expensive quarterbacks at DraftKings, and comes in at number 10 at FanDuel. In other words, he is cheap and carries a ton of value.
Carlos Hyde, RB, San Francisco 49ers
Hyde is a probable for this coming weekend, but if he does start, you want him on your team. The 49ers are a weak this year, but Hyde is one of the best RBs in the NFL right now, leading in rushing yard. He also has two touchdowns. However, he’s not anywhere near the top of the most expensive RBs on DraftKings or FanDuel. Typically, you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a running back, and Hyde fits this description perfectly. He keeps scoring fantasy points, and stays cheap, and that’s a great combination for your roster. Even though the 49ers do not have a good chance of winning against the Cardinals this weekend, Hyde will be getting a lot of carries. He’s talented and quick, and this will ensure that he keeps putting up great fantasy numbers for the foreseeable future. He even has a handful of receiving yards, which is a nice little bonus.
Travis Benjamin, WR, Cleveland Browns
Benjamin is not a top 10 ranked wide receiver. He’s not even a top 20 ranked WR, but that doesn’t change the fact that he has the third most amount of receiving yards so far this season, behind only top rated (and priced) stars Antonio Brown and Julio Jones. He also has 3 touchdowns and is one of the top averaging wide outs when it comes to fantasy points. The downside of Benjamin is that he’s done all of this on only 7 targets and 6 receptions. However, his great play should be an indicator to Browns QB Josh McCown that he can be relied more heavily upon. Johnny Manziel appears to not be getting the start at QB this weekend, and that could be a sign that other changes will be made in playing strategy as well. Also, the Browns are slated as favorites against the Oakland Raiders this weekend, and that could give Benjamin an even bigger edge over the competition. If Benjamin does what he’s capable of, he is a great addition at wide receiver at any tier, but thanks to his extra cheap price right now and a weaker than average competition, this is the week to take a risk on him.

It’s early in the season. He’ll show up when you least expect it. Maybe keep him on the bench until he comes alive.
