Did you start Andrew Luck this weekend? How about Le’veon Bell or Jamal Charles? Well, guess who did, this guy. I had the unfortunate luck, no pun intended, of starting Andrew. I knew coming into the game that there was a chance he would be benched based on the records throughout the NFL. Had the New England Patriots lost earlier in the day, it would have given the Colts more incentive to play harder. As it turned out, the Colts decided to lay down and give the Dallas Cowboys the NFC East with ease. Although it wasn’t all Andrew Lucks fault, it was a big factor in the outcome of my fantasy championship. Let’s take a look at how my starters did and remember how well they did all year. So many let downs.
Remember, this is an IDP league, which is an individual defensive player league. We’ll talk about the starting offense to get things rolling. We already mentioned how Andrew Luck did horrible, in fact he scored -4 points for my team. Not only did he not get a positive number he only through for interceptions. The next guy on my list was Le’veon Bell. He is pretty much the only guy that did anything over the weekend. He’s had multiple games in the past few weeks with two touchdowns and over 200 yards. This week he did get me a touchdown but barely broke 80 yards. The worst part was, they played the team I needed to score a lot of points. The Kansas City Chiefs came into Pittsburgh and Jamaal Charles was supposed to light it up. He had multiple attempts to get through into the end zone, but walls were formed by the steel curtain. Jamaal Charles ended up given me three points and Le’veon Bell got me nine points. This a low scoring output league, so it’s imperative that you get lots of yards and touchdowns. This is also a non-PPR league.
The next couple of guys are players that have done well all year. TY Hilton, was sidelined with a hamstring injury. This left me with starting Donte Moncrief. We already talked how well Andrew Luck did, so good old Donte did nothing for me. A Big 0. AJ Green was on the other side. Although he Played Monday night, he got hurt in the first series of the game. He scored zero points just like my other wide receiver. My tight end was Martellus Bennett. I felt like Jimmy Claussen would need a nice big target in the middle the field for his first start in many games. Bennett got me zero points. You see the pattern here. I decided to start Cody Parkey of the Eagles against the Washington Redskins. He missed two field goals from inside 35 yards and made one field goal and three extra points. The guy on my bench was Randy Bullock of the Houston Texans. He nailed six field goals in the game. My team in the end counting all my defensive players ended up with 20 points. I averaged over 70 points all year. I would have been okay with the loss, but to not even show up was like the Denver Broncos against the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl last year.
My opponent had guys like Peyton Manning and Julius Thomas, who did okay. Odell Beckham was his main guy for the week. It was definitely a beatable week had my players showed up and did average work. I would’ve at least had a chance. I’ll take second place and move on. The nice part about this game being over, is that it’s over. I can get back to some normal life and watch more daily games, as well as enjoy the playoffs. There is still plenty more action across the board to be had. Be on the lookout for some more fantasy action and we look forward to helping you guys win your daily fantasy games, as well as your year-long fantasy leagues.
