This weekend, the PGA Tour comes to the final event of the season. The Tour Championship, presented by Coca Cola, has served as the final big event of the PGA season for a few years now, and it is where the best of the best compete for bragging rights. Yes, the Majors are long over, but this is where the best in the PGA compete to see who can hold the title of reigning champion. This year looks like one of the most exciting fields that we’ve seen in recent history, so get your daily fantasy golf team ready well ahead of time.

Dustin Johnson: Johnson had a huge win this past weekend at the BMW Championship, and thanks in part to that, he is this week’s top rated golfer going into the tournament. His salary of $11,700 is quite high, but there’s a lot to gain by spending that much on him. He has averaged 69.9 strokes per round this season, and has an average fantasy score at DraftKings of 89.8 per tournament. He’s made 19 out of 20 cuts, and has 13 top ten finishes within those 20. That’s one of the best fantasy performances we’ve seen in a long time over the course of a year, and there’s no doubt that he has a strong top ten likelihood going into this tournament. If you can afford him, he’s a great draft choice.

Adam Scott: The only golfer who might be more consistent than Johnson this season is Adam Scott. Scott has made 18 out of 18 cuts, has 8 top ten finishes, with 3 of those being in his last 3 tournaments entered. Scott has the second highest average fantasy score per tournament in the field with his 83.0. The only downside to Scott is that his 2 wins this season have not been in tougher competition like Johnson’s have. Still, with his salary set at $10,100, he’s a great buy at this price level. Johnson is likely to perform better, but Scott is an easy top five threat here. We like him as a backup to Johnson, depending on what your salary needs are at the top of your roster.

Rory McIlroy: Last year, McIlroy wasn’t a factor at the Tour Championship thanks to a plaguing injury, but this year he is the number two seed with a salary of $11,100. McIlroy has had a quiet season, but it’s been surprisingly strong at the same time. He’s made the cut in 17 out of 20 tournaments, has made the top ten 10 times, and has average 80.7 fantasy points per tournament. Even more impressive than this, his average stroke count per round is 69.7. We really like McIlroy, and think he will do well here, but wish that he was about $400 or $500 cheaper. At that price he’d be a good buy, but here he’s just a bit too expensive for us, especially considering who is priced similarly around him.

Jordan Spieth: No list would be complete without mentioning Jordan Spieth. His salary of $10,600 seems pretty high, but look at what he’s done so far this year. He’s made 18 of 20 cuts, has 8 top ten finishes, and an average fantasy point total of 79.7. He also has an average stroke count of 69.7 per round. He’s very similar to McIlroy, but at a lower price. If you’re going to choose one or the other, we recommend Spieth.

Charl Schwartzel: Schwartzel is basically on nobody’s top ten list for this tournament, but he should be. He’s made 19 of 20 cuts this season, has 7 top ten finishes, and an average stroke count of 69.7 per round. That’s very similar to Spieth, but Schwartzel is priced at just $7,700. Maybe we’re missing something, but this seems like a steal. He finished T4 with Scott last weekend at the BMW, and he seems poised for another great finish here. He’s priced below average, and probably more than $1,000 below what he’s truly worth.
