The first Major tournament is behind us, and the next stop on the PGA Tour is the RBC Heritage, kicking off on Thursday, April 14th. The biggest names in golf will be resting this weekend, leaving open some great opportunities for true golf fans to put together a strong daily fantasy golf roster and dominate over their competition. Here are our top five golfers to take a look at this weekend.

Jason Day: Day should be your top choice here as far as talent goes. He is the new world number one, after all. The only thing we don’t like about Day is that he’s the most expensive golfer in the field, according to DraftKings. He has a salary of $12,500, making him the most expensive by almost $2,000. That’s a hefty price tag, especially when there are a couple golfers that are approaching his average fantasy point output per tournament. Day is averaging 78.7 points per tournament, and has an average stroke count of 70.4. That latter number concerns us a little bit, but if you’re willing to pay his salary, Day is the top golfer in the field. We will be passing on him in order to find strength elsewhere, but there’s no shame in going with the best.

Paul Casey: If you don’t draft Day, you need to draft Casey. Casey’s the number two choice for this weekend, and he’s a lot cheaper than Day. However, he did finish T4 this weekend, beating Day. With a salary of just $10,800, it’s hard to think of an excuse not to draft him. He’s finished in the cut in 8 out of 9 tournaments this season, has 4 top ten finishes, and has an average stroke count of 70.3. His average fantasy point contribution is 75.7, putting him right at Jason Day level. Casey is a strong golfer, and three of his top ten finishes have been in his last three tournaments. This is a weaker than normal field, and there’s no reason to believe that he can’t earn his first win of the season this week. He’s talented enough, it just depends on how he does against the other top ranked golfers here.

Brandt Snedeker: Snedeker finished T10 at The Masters last weekend, solidifying the argument that Snedeker is on pace to have a great season. He’s the number three ranked golfer here with a salary of $10,600, which would be a good deal for him in a good field. In a field like this one, that’s actually a discount for him. He’s proven himself over time, and although the start to his season has been shaky with only 8 out of 11 cuts being made, he does have 4 top ten finishes this season. And of the top three ranked golfers, he does have the lowest stroke count per round with a 70.0.

Kevin Kisner: Kisner has the second strongest fantasy point average with 77.8. His salary of $9,700 doesn’t indicate this fact, though. Kisner has made 9 out of 11 cuts this season, and has 4 top ten finishes. His average stroke count per round is strong with 69.8, making him one of the stronger picks here. He even has a win this season to help back up our claim. He’s our top value pick of the weekend. He has potential to be a top five golfer in this tournament, yet he is priced at a mid-tier golfer number. We like that, and he’s one of our highest recommendations this weekend.

Justin Thomas: Thomas is a very similar golfer to Kisner on paper, but he’s a bit behind. His salary of $9,300 is attractive, but his average fantasy point number of 74.0 and his average stroke count of 70.3 are even more attractive in this field. He has made the cut 10 out of 12 times and has 3 top tens, including a win. Drafting both Kisner and Thomas is going to give you a great one-two punch when it comes to value, allowing you to draft a more expensive golfer while still having a strong team.
